Lily of the Valley # 71, Colour Create # 56 and Papertake Weekly

Finally got a card made yesterday. I decided I was going to make a card before I did any housework, etc., rather than the other way around.  Card got made, Hollie came home from school upset, my washing machine broke again and then I  had to get Hollie organised for her Halloween disco at school.

I am entering my card into three challenges.  Lily of the Valley - Sketch by Bev, Colour Create Challenge - Purple, Aqua and White with the option of swirls, which I didn't use but really love these colours together and Papertake Weekly - Sparkly and Bright, have used lots of stickles and I think the colours are nice and bright too.

No card - Shannon's Formal

Sorry I haven't being doing many cards of late, I just don't seem to get any time.  What with homeworks, after school activities, Shannon working and now hubby off sick.

I thought I would post a few photographs of my eldest daughter Shannon that I took this evening before she went to her school formal.  I have sat for three hours today at the beauticians and hairdressers and as you can tell at nearly midnight, I am now waiting on a text from her to go and pick her up. She got her fake tan done on Saturday and then today her make-up and nails and then her hair put up and styled.

These photographs were taken in her room and the light isn't great.

Photo with her proud dad
Photo at her friends house before they left

The photographs don't really do her justice.  She was absolutely gorgeous.  Makes you feel really old when you see her all grown up.  It's like one of those lump in the throat kind of situations.  You have to do a double take and realise she is not a little girl anymore.

Shannon is already off for Halloween and Sophie finishes on Wednesday and Hollie on Friday.  Shannon goes back to school next Tuesday, Sophie next Thursday and Hollie the following Monday.  They only have one day off together, so not really much of a break from school runs, etc. or to do family things.

Anyway,  thanks for popping by and hopefully I will get some crafting done soon.

Truly Scrumptious # 34 and Cute Card Thursday # 134

Got another card made last night but am only posting it now as I was watching craft day on QVC and doing some baking.  Felt guilty watching it and thought I had better do something as well. Wasn't that impressed with it really, I have seen better shows. Anyway I am entering my card into two challenges - Truly Scrumptious - Follow Sketch and make an easel card (yes I made another calendar card) and Cute Card Thursday - What's Buggin' You - Use a bug, butterfly etc on your card.

Sugar Bowl # 45 - Tiets Sketch

This is a card I started to make about a week ago and never got finished until last night. It wasn't that I was having trouble finishing it, I just had a really busy week.

Went shoe shopping with my daughter Shannon last Saturday and we got a pair of shoes.  Not what we expected to get but they match her formal dress beautifully.  She had wanted heeled sandals but she didn't feel comfortable in them so went for a pair of closed in heels by Rocket Dog.  They are like a shimmer finish, so her dress reflects off them and looks like a few shades paler. My  daughter Sophie, brought her friend home for a sleepover on Saturday and I just didn't seem to get anything done on Sunday as we had Sunday School and then our Girls Brigade/Boys Brigade enrolment church service.  My youngest daughter Hollie then came home early on Monday from school sick.  I kept her off on Tuesday but she wanted to go back on Wednesday as she didn't want to miss netball practice. I spent Tuesday night and all day Wednesday, cutting out little bags on the Cricut for Girls Brigade to go with the lesson.  Spent Thursday and Friday then playing catchup with housework and supermarket.  On Saturday Shannon went and collected her formal dress and bought herself a bag and some jewellery to match. Its great when they have their own money and want to pay for items themselves.  Although it still works out an expensive night out.

Anyway, at last onto my card.  Got it assembled and finished last night while watching the X-Factor results.  I am only entering it into the one challenge as it took me too long and I missed other challenges it would have suited.I am entering it into Sugar Bowl # 45 - Tiets Sketch. The theme was autumn but I am not sure if these colours are suitable, so I just followed the sketch.

Mojo Monday 159

I have made this card today for Mojo Monday # 159 Challenge.  I coloured this image a few weeks ago and never got round to making a card, so it was quite a quick card to make in the end.

My mum really liked the calendar card that I posted yesterday.  I have decided I might make a few more of them with different sketches and they would be nice to give with Christmas presents to family or teachers.

Thanks for popping by.  Your comments are very much appreciated.  Hope you have a nice weekend with lots of crafting.

I am going shoe shopping with my eldest daughter Shannon.  She does not like shopping at all.  I took her this week after school to look for a formal dress for her school formal. She got her  dress yesterday and now needs a pair of silver sandals, I think, to go with it.  Her school formal is on the 26th October and I made appointments this week for her to get her hair, makeup, nails and tan done.  One night out and so expensive. Don't think you would want to know how much the dress was.   Glad it is only once this year and once next year.

Bunny Zoe's Crafts Monthly Challenge # 4 and Flutter By Wednesday # 125

This is a calendar card that I was asked to make a couple of weeks ago by my mum and never got time.  I had previously made a calendar card and my mum liked it and I asked her if she would like one.  She picked these K & Co Wild Saffron papers. I eventually got it made this morning and am pleased with how it turned out. I really like the colours. I made it a larger easel card than the previous one. So I hope she will like it.

Pink Gem, Flutter By Wednesday , Pollycraft Monday Challenge and Papertake Weekly

I have made this card for the challenge at Pink Gem # 8 - to follow sketch with added theme of 'Lots of Sparkle.' It hopefully fits the challenges at Flutter By Wednesday # 124 - Angel Fairy or Butterfly with sparkle and shimmer and Pollycraft Monday Challenge # 64 - Anything Goes and Papertake Weekly - Theme or Sketch from the past 3 years. I have chosen - 11th May 2010 - shiny and sparkly - although the glitter isn't showing up to well.

High Hopes Challenge 90

This is my second post for today.  I thought I would put this card on now in case I don't get a chance later tonight or tomorrow and then I would be too late to enter the challenge.  I have had this stamp for a little while, but was waiting until Christmas to use it for present filler ideas.  I didn't know that there was a challenge blog for these stamps until this week and I thought I would maybe give it a go.  I am entering my card into the High Hopes # 90 Challenge. However, I was going to make the present I had in mind to go with the card as a set but I can't get any candy canes yet.  I suppose it is still a bit early as I was going to make snowman soup.  Marshmallows, a hot chocolate sachet and a candy cane in a little cello bag with either a bag topper or scrunched and tied with ribbon.  Oh well, will definitely get them made for Christmas, but not for the challenge.

Sugar Bowl # 44 - Lilian's sketch

Just a quick post from me today.  This is a card I have made for the Sugar Bowl Challenge # 44 - a sketch by Lilian with the theme of A Birthday Card.  I have wanted to use this stamp for a little while so thought I would make a card for a boy's birthday.  However, don't seem to have many papers for a boy's card.  Came across these that I have had for years when I started scrapbooking so it is another blue and green card.
Cardblank - Craftwork Cards
Patterned Paper - Scrapworks (double-sided, so used for layering as well)
Image - Sugar Nellie
Sentiment Stamp - Free with magazine
Woodware Punch
Coloured with Distress Inks.

Only entering into the one challenge this time.  Hopefully be back later today or tomorrow with another card.

Thanks for popping by, it is much appreciated and have a nice weekend whatever you are doing.
