Papertake Weekly, Stampavie and More # 125 and Truly Scrumptious # 49

Just a quick post from me today.  Really need to get sorted before I go for my daughter Sophie's parent interviews today at 4 - 6.30pm.  Went to see Alexandra Burke in concert at The Waterfront in Belfast on Tuesday night.  Not really my type of music but Sophie and her friend wanted to go and then Hollie said she would like to go, so I took them up.  Pity you have to drive 60 miles there and back and especially on a school night.  Was a good concert and they enjoyed it so that was the main thing.

Anyway I am entering my card into three challenges this time :-

Papertake Weekly - Ribbons and Pearls
Stampavie and More # 125 - Follow Sketch (first time entering this challenge)
Truly Scrumptious # 49 - Colour Combination - Brown, Green and Pink

Enjoyed working with this sketch and loved the colours.

Cardblank - Craftwork Cards

Thanks for popping by and visiting my blog. Much appreciated.  Very cold and frosty today was -4.5 when I was doing the school runs.  Hope you are having warmer weather. Take Care.

Sugar Bowl # 45 - Tiets Sketch

This is a card I started to make about a week ago and never got finished until last night. It wasn't that I was having trouble finishing it, I just had a really busy week.

Went shoe shopping with my daughter Shannon last Saturday and we got a pair of shoes.  Not what we expected to get but they match her formal dress beautifully.  She had wanted heeled sandals but she didn't feel comfortable in them so went for a pair of closed in heels by Rocket Dog.  They are like a shimmer finish, so her dress reflects off them and looks like a few shades paler. My  daughter Sophie, brought her friend home for a sleepover on Saturday and I just didn't seem to get anything done on Sunday as we had Sunday School and then our Girls Brigade/Boys Brigade enrolment church service.  My youngest daughter Hollie then came home early on Monday from school sick.  I kept her off on Tuesday but she wanted to go back on Wednesday as she didn't want to miss netball practice. I spent Tuesday night and all day Wednesday, cutting out little bags on the Cricut for Girls Brigade to go with the lesson.  Spent Thursday and Friday then playing catchup with housework and supermarket.  On Saturday Shannon went and collected her formal dress and bought herself a bag and some jewellery to match. Its great when they have their own money and want to pay for items themselves.  Although it still works out an expensive night out.

Anyway, at last onto my card.  Got it assembled and finished last night while watching the X-Factor results.  I am only entering it into the one challenge as it took me too long and I missed other challenges it would have suited.I am entering it into Sugar Bowl # 45 - Tiets Sketch. The theme was autumn but I am not sure if these colours are suitable, so I just followed the sketch.

Sugar Bowl Challenge 38 - Judy's Sketch

This is a card I have made for the Sugar Bowl Challenge 38 - Judy's sketch. Now that I am able to link I am not leaving my card until the night before so that it is the last post on my blog and easier found. The optional theme for this card was Scallops, so I have used nestabilites for the circles.

Woodware Punches for flowers
Flower Brads - can't remember, have had them for a long time
Sentiment - free with magazine

Have a nice evening.  Off now to do some ironing and watch Holland v Uruguay.  Holland to win.

Sugar Bowl Challenge 36 - Lilian's Sketch

This is a card I have made for the Sugar Bowl Challenge 36 - Lilian's Sketch, but won't be entering it as I haven't had time to figure out how to link it up properly and not just to my blog. I am not very computer aware so think I need to be shown or get instructions, probably just an age thing, but seems to be taking me forever to find the time to get it sorted. What with the North West 200 Races and then the Isle of Man TT Races and now the World Cup and my eldest daughter at home for study leave for her GCSE's, it has been slightly busy.
Anyway the theme was pink, black and white along with the sketch.  Really like these colours together and have used them before on scrapbook pages. Also really like this sketch and will probably use it again.
Cardstock is Die Cuts with a View
Woodware Flower Punches
Doodlebug Dotlets (like brads but used with an eyelet setter)
Just for You Stamp was free with a magazine
Sugar Nellie - Gorjuss girl image
Papermania watercolour pencils
This was my first time inking this image and she is lovely to colour, however was a bit confused with what to do with the area under her chin - is it her hair or a scarf or part of her dress.  I looked at a few cards on different blogs and galleries using this image and they all seem to colour it as hair, so that is what I did.
I used watercolour pencils this time to colour as I don't have black in the Distress Inks.
Anyway, thanks for visting and happy crafting.
