Sugar Bowl # 76, Truly Scrumptious # 72 and Sugar Nellie (Facebook)

Loved the colour combination on the Sugar Nellie challenge on Facebook this week, so thought I would combine it with The Sugar Bowl Challenge too.

This was a very quick card and I am really pleased as I eventually tried paper piecing.  Took me long enough to try it and now I can't wait to try it again.  I paper pieced the dress but made a mistake, I cut off the little bits at the tights by mistake.  I coloured it hoping you wouldn't notice but it is slightly lighter and my eldest daughter suggested it could act like a petticoat. A suggestion from a daughter who doesn't like crafting.  Maybe I am winning her over.

I am entering my card into three challenges :-

Sugar Bowl # 76 - Follow Sketch with optional theme of paper piecing
Truly Scrumptious # 72 - Something Forgotten (Image) - (second entry)
Sugar Nellie - Facebook - Orange and Green

I ran out of pearls for the inside but I think it works ol.

Had made this card recently, yes another calendar card,  and wasn't able to post due to internet problems.  It was either very slow or wouldn't let me access any sites or even my e-mails.  Still not working great so posting this card as it  is working now.  Finishing off another card so maybe be back later tonight or tomorrow with it.

I am entering my card into

P.S. I seem to be getting a lot of non-related anonymous comments since changing my comments to the pop up window.  Is there anyway to stop these apart from going back to embedded comments which wasn't letting comments be posted and that was why I changed.

Finally got a chance to do some crafting.  Have eventually given in and purchased this image from Sugar Nellie.  Not really a lover of fairies but everytime I saw a card made with this image, I fell in love with it a little bit more, think it is the tomboyish style to it and now I love it. Although my cutting out isn't great, I can't wait to ink it again.

Inside of Card

Two cards were made and given to both sets of parents.  They were very quick cards and only got finished at tea-time on Christmas Eve with Hollie being sick.

Decorations are all down and now cleaning the house, so not getting any crafting done at the minute.  Also getting the girls back to school, although Sophie came home early today sick and Shannon only starts back tomorrow.  Next week will be back to normality I think.

Thanks for popping by and wishing everyone a very happy new year and best wishes for 2012.
