Sugar Bowl Challenge 37 - Marlene's Sketch

This is a card I created for the Sugar Bowl Challenge 37 - a sketch by Marlene.  I wasn't sure if I would do this sketch as I didn't have any nestabilites for the image shape, but then wondered if I could use another shape but still follow the sketch.  Again, wasn't sure if I would enter the card into the challenge as still hadn't figured out the linky thing until I came across an item on melscraftroom where she had just got DT for Crafty Cardmakers. Well done Mel.  I hadn't came across Crafty Cardmakers blog before, so went for a nosey as you do.  So glad I did.  On the left hand side was a tutorial on how to link etc.  So I made the card last night, am now posting it onto my blog and after I do the school run I am going to try to link it up properly rather than to my blog.  Here's hoping I can get it right.  I can only try, I suppose.

Anyway, on to my card.

Cardstock - Die Cuts with a View
Paper and Embellishment - K & Co - Simply Sweet
Ribbon - Doodlebug
Flowers - Woodware Punch with Kars glitter glue
Image - Sugar Nellie - Daisy (one of my favourites)
Nestabilities
Anyway off to do the school run now, only today and tomorrow left and then off for the summer holidays.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge 34

This is a card I made over the weekend for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge 34, with optional theme of check or gingham. Had a little bit of free time on Saturday evening as my husband was away for the weekend at the Moto GP at  Silverstone.  Was at my neighbour's son's wedding party on Friday night, had to work for my husband on Saturday and then out for tea with my mum and dad last night.  Busy but nice.
Anyway my card details are:
Pink cardstock, papers, adhesive flower strip and photocorners -Doodlebug
White and Green cardstock - Paper Mill
Image - Chloe with Kitten - Pink Gem
Coloured with Papermania Watercolour Pencils (didn't think the distress inks were bright enough)
Nestabilities
Best Wishes Stamp free with magazine (think they were Papermania)

I stamped Best Wishes twice as the photo corners were in opposite corners and thought it finished off the right hand corner. Really liked the sketch but won't be entering it into the challenge this time as still haven't had time to figure out the linking.  Will still follow sketches and make cards just for practice though.
Thanks for visiting and happy crafting. Donna

Sugar Bowl Challenge 36 - Lilian's Sketch

This is a card I have made for the Sugar Bowl Challenge 36 - Lilian's Sketch, but won't be entering it as I haven't had time to figure out how to link it up properly and not just to my blog. I am not very computer aware so think I need to be shown or get instructions, probably just an age thing, but seems to be taking me forever to find the time to get it sorted. What with the North West 200 Races and then the Isle of Man TT Races and now the World Cup and my eldest daughter at home for study leave for her GCSE's, it has been slightly busy.
Anyway the theme was pink, black and white along with the sketch.  Really like these colours together and have used them before on scrapbook pages. Also really like this sketch and will probably use it again.
Cardstock is Die Cuts with a View
Woodware Flower Punches
Doodlebug Dotlets (like brads but used with an eyelet setter)
Just for You Stamp was free with a magazine
Sugar Nellie - Gorjuss girl image
Papermania watercolour pencils
This was my first time inking this image and she is lovely to colour, however was a bit confused with what to do with the area under her chin - is it her hair or a scarf or part of her dress.  I looked at a few cards on different blogs and galleries using this image and they all seem to colour it as hair, so that is what I did.
I used watercolour pencils this time to colour as I don't have black in the Distress Inks.
Anyway, thanks for visting and happy crafting.

Sarah Kay - Isabelle with puppy Coco

This is a card I made using a Sarah Kay image called Isabelle with puppy Coco.  The image is really lovely to colour except for the grass area. I coloured the image and then the little tuffs of grass and the stones, but it didn't look right.  I then looked at the stampevie gallery and some had coloured all the area as grass.  I then coloured this and it looked like she was ready to fall off a cliff edge.  I then just kept colouring in more area for grass and this is what it ended up like.  Love the little girl and dog, but not sure about the rest, maybe some blue sky may have worked or less grass, etc. Anyway, this was just a card I attempted myself instead of using a sketch.
Cardstock - Die Cuts with a View
Ribbon - Making Memories
Label - Karen Foster
Paper - not sure as have had it for a long time and these were just a few pieces that were left
Coloured with Distress Inks
Sarah Kay Stamp
Sorry about the quality of the photo, this is about the best one.
Thanks for looking and have a nice weekend.
