Papertake Weekly # 53, Winter Wonderland and Craft Us Crazy # 2

Well I have finally got the chance to make a card tonight.  I have had a very stressful two weeks.  Have been helping hubby with orders in the shop, doing my dads accounts and doing the vat quarter for my hubby's accounts.  There has also been a lot of hassle with BT for the new shop but we got it finally opened on Monday, phone line in yesterday but have to wait for 5 days for broadband even though the order was placed on 4th February and were told it would take 10 days.  Who would have thought that a flood caused by a shop next door over Christmas would cause this much hassle and put us out of business for over two months and have to relocate premises. Just glad things are getting back to some sort of normality.

I am entering this card into three challenges:-

Papertake Weekly # 53- Follow Sketch
Winter Wonderland - Include an animal (also must be a Christmas card)
Craft Us Crazy # 2 - Brrr It's Cold Outside

I know it seems odd to make a Christmas card now but you are never to early to start, so I made two.

Sorry for the poor quality.  As I was taking the photograph the table collapsed and one of the legs fell off.  It has been a bit loose and had asked hubby to re-glue it but he has just been so busy.  It is glued now and hopefully will be set for tomorrow or there will be no Sunday dinner.

Both of the insides are different as I ran out of paper.  I only had one sheet of each .

A Spoonfull of Sugar # 138, Lily of the Valley # 84, Papertake Weekly and Cute Card Thursday # 151

Went to visit my new baby niece last night. She is gorgeous and has a head of black hair.  Although she was much finer than I thought she would be for her birth weight.  I was expecting a little bruiser as they say but she has very small hands and feet and is so cute.  Got to nurse her as did hubby and the girls and fed her a bottle too.  Think Shannon is looking for a baby brother or sister - no chance, three is definitely plenty for me.  Too old anyway and I wouldn't relish the thought of nine months of sickness again.

Got this card completed today and then when hubby came home we went out for tea as it is Hollie's birthday tomorrow and it wouldn't be a good night to take her out with it being Valentine's Day. Going shopping or rather 'window shopping' to Belfast tomorrow as that is what she wants to do and then to the cinema on Tuesday to see Yogi Bear before she goes back to school on Wednesday.  We are going to take her ice-skating next Sunday as hubby won't be working.  Hopefully our shop will be opening on Wednesday in our new premises. Fingers crossed.

I am entering my card into four challenges : -

Lily of the Valley # 84 - Follow Sketch and use a LOTV image
A Spoonfull of Sugar # 138 - Show Love (wedding, hearts, valentines)
Papertake Weekly - Have a heart (include a heart on our card - the hearts are on the image - hope this is suitable)
Cute Card Thursday # 151 - Hearts and Flowers (again hearts on the image)

Cardblank - Craftwork Cards
Cardstock - Die Cuts With A View
Patterned Paper - My Minds Eye (free with magazine and nearly all used now.  Loved these papers)

Coloured with Distress Inks
Gems - Mei Flower
Ribbon from local craft shop
Sentiment - Computer generated

I got another award this week from Katina and haven't had a chance to post it. Thank you very much Katina.

In accepting the award I've had to agree to the following conditions:

1) You have been tagged, do you want to accept? Create a post on your blog and post the love blog photo.

2) Link back to the person who gave you the award and say if you accept.

3) Choose 3-5 of your favourite blogs to tag, link these in your post too and tell the lucky people they have been tagged.

The aim of the award is to bring unknown blogs to light, so we are asked not to tag someone "with 3000 followers".

I am passing this award to the following three people :-

                                               Melly
                                               Christine
                                               Alison

I had got this award recently from Melly and not sure if I can do this again but I just want to thank my followers and I get the chance to give an award back to Melly (sorry) who has given me my two other awards.

Thanks for popping by and visiting and your comments are very much appreciated.

A Gem of a Challenge # 14

Thought I would post a card that I made yesterday.  My brothers wife had a baby girl on Tuesday morning at 3.36am weighing 11 lb 4 oz.  A baby sister for Eva who is 3 next month.

Has been an up and down sort of couple of days.  Good news on the safe arrival of my new niece who I am going to visit this weekend as children aren't allowed in to visit at the hospital and I didn't want to go and the girls not get to see her but then sad news when I later heard two little girls that I know at GB and Sunday School, their mum ended her life on Monday night.  Hard to get your head around something like that.

Anyway onto my card : -

I am entering into just the one challenge :-

A Gem of A Challenge # 14 - Follow sketch

Cardblank - Craftwork Cards
Cardstock- Bazzill

Gems - Mei Flower

I didn't have any baby images and was going to buy a card when I remembered I had this digi image from Pink Gem so thought I would try a digi again.  Still think I prefer stamps or maybe I just need more practice.

Going out now to collect Shannon from work and then I think I will have an early night as hubby is out at a meeting and won't be back til late.

Thanks for popping by and hope you all have a good weekend.

Sketch Saturday # 141

Was going to start and give the house another really good clean today, doing out cupboards, moving furniture etc., and then decided against it. Hollie finishes school on Wednesday for a week, Sophie finishes on Friday for a week and Shannon finishes on Friday until Wednesday, for mid-term break.  Pity their holidays are not all the same. Better leaving the cleaning until they go back to school I thought, so did a general tidy up, ironed and made a card. Definitely was a better decision.

I am entering my card into one challenge:-

Sketch Saturday # 141 - Follow sketch

Cardblank - Craftwork Cards
Cardstock - Doodlebug
Patterned Paper - Doodlebug
Image - Whimsy Stamps - Kenny K (love that some of these are out in stamps now as well as digi)

Thanks for popping by and the comments on my last card were very much appreciated.  Also I won the challenge on Saturday at Totally Gorjuss and the prize was ribbon.

Truly Scrumptious # 50

Started this on Friday night after tea before getting Shannon from work at 9pm and Sophie from her friends at 9.30pm and then thought I could make two of these cards and they would do for anniversary cards for our parents.  So got them finished last night.
My mum and dad's 44th anniversary is on the 25th March and hubby's mum and dad's 45th anniversary is on the 17th March (St Patrick's Day).
I have wanted to use this image but didn't know what for and this seemed appropriate.  Although hubby thought I was maybe pushing it a bit and telling them they were "old."
I wish I had got this image two  years ago as it would have suited hubby's grandparents better.  They were 94 and 97 when they passed away and this image would have suited them so well.

I am only entering my card into one challenge this time :-
Truly Scrumptious # 50 - A Sketch

I have left the message inside blank as I am looking on the internet for a nice anniversary quote or sentiment to add.

Thanks for popping by and visiting.  Your comments are very much appreciated.  Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Took Hollie to the cinema this afternoon to see Disney's Tangled.  Was very good although I cried at the end. Yes, I even cry at Disney films. Shannon and Sophie went to see A Little Bit of Heaven, I think that is what it is called and when Shannon came out, you knew she had been crying and Sophie said she cried throughout the film. Both said it was a very good film and they enjoyed it.

Must go and get the dinner started as hubby has been working in the new shop to try and get it ready for opening in about a weeks time.  Still getting nowhere with the loss assessors so we have contacted our insurance company directly to try and get it sorted.

Sketch Saturday # 140, Simon Says Stamp, Lily of the Valley # 83, Moving Along With The Times # 84 and Craft Us Crazy # 1

Sugar Bowl # 52, Totally Gorjuss # 65, Flutterby Wednesday # 140, Papertake Weekly

Another card made but it is one of those that you can't put your finger on what is missing.  It just seems to be lacking something.  Maybe I choose the wrong papers or image.  Anyway, a few flowers and gems later and it seems a bit better. I have left the sentiment off as i couldn't really think of one.  Was going along the lines of - This girls got art-i-tude, but decided against it.

I am entering my card into four challenges :-

Sugar Bowl # 52 - Sketch - optional theme love (didn't use this)
Totally Gorjuss # 65 - Anything Goes
Flutterby Wednesday # 140 - Open theme just use a fairy, butterfly or angel

Thanks very much for popping by, I know it can get very busy sometimes.  Your comments are much appreciated and I would like to say thank you to Debby and Alison on their advice on the Grand Calibur.  Must check it out a bit more.  I do have the big shot and the cuttlebug (which sit on a shelf and rarely get used), it was just I liked the shaped cards that I see a few people using. I also want to say hello and thank you to Lena another new follower.

Off now to the supermarket to get a few things for the girls packed lunches and maybe nip into town before I have to start the school runs and make tea as it Girls Brigade tonight, so will be busy later.
